Visitors with visual impairments 


We summarised several important notes regarding the accessibility of our locations. They are based on the »Reisen für Alle« report (only in German).

  • Assistance dogs are allowed in all relevant areas of the visitor centre upon request.
  • Outdoor walkways have no visual high contrast or tactile ascertainable boundaries.
  • The main entrance can be reached without steps or thresholds. Both entrance doors are made of glass and don´t have security signage.
  • All relevant areas are well lit, which means they are bright and blend-free illuminated.
  • In most cases, explanations are well readable and done in a high contrast print.
  • An emergency call in the elevator is activied with an acoustic signal. The stops are not announced acousticly. The control elements are with a high contrast visually and tactile easy accessible.
  • As an alternative, a stairway is available.
  • The steps of the stairway have no high contrast visual signaling. The stairway has a railing.
  • In the exhibition, there are obstacles like objects reaching into the room, in the walking ways: displays.  
  • Most displays are well lit.
  • The majority of information on objects and displays is disseminated in written form with a high contrast print. There are also additional acoustic information points.  
  • Information offer: Audio-Guides are available with a trnskripted guided tour for visitors with visual impairments.
  • Supporting devices: folding chairs.
