How to get here

The Nebra Ark is located in Kleinwangen, beside the town of Nebra, and stands in the middle of the countryside in the Nature Park Saale-Unstrut-Triasland.

Most of our visitors arrive by car. However, it is also possible to come by rail. In Kleinwangen there is a rail stop only a few hundred yards from the Nebra Ark.

It is particularly nice to cycle here. The Visitor Centre is on the Unstrut Cycle Path and the Sky Disc Cycle Path.

And you can even come to the Nebra Ark by canoe, as there is a canoe pier in Kleinwangen.

Parking for visitors and halting places for mobile homes are available at the edge of Kleinwangen, around 300 m below the Nebra Ark.

For disabled people there are two marked disabled parking places directly in front of the Nebra Ark.

Arriving by public transport

To reach the Nebra Ark by rail, the railway runs daily (from the station in Naumburg) to Wangen Rail Stop (one stop after Nebra Station).

In addition there is a regular public bus line 629 that runs between Nebra station, the Nebra Ark and Mittelberg hill.

For cyclists

You can cycle through the charming Unstrut valley without any serious inclines, for example from Naumburg on the Unstrut Cycle Path via Nebra to Wangen. There is then a short uphill section before you arrive directly in front of the Nebra Ark. From the State Museum for Prehistory in Halle you can cycle past the findspot of the Nebra Sky Disc and on to the Nebra Ark.

Downstairs in the Nebra Ark there are large lockers available. If you have very large baggage, the staff at the cash desk will be happy to help by keeping an eye on your belongings, so that you can enjoy a relaxed visit.

Public Bus Route to Mittelberg Hill

Mittelberg hill, the findspot of the Sky Disc, is about 3 km away in the hills above the Visitor Centre. It is located in a nature reserve with delicate flora and fauna and it is therefore best to visit it on foot or by bike.

However, as a help up the hill, a public bus runs regularly between Nebra station, the car park of the Nebra Ark, Nebra Ark and Mittelberg hill.

Tickets can be bought on the bus.
