Saale-Unstrut – "Land from Stone and Wine"

The Saale-Unstrut Region

The south of Saxony Anhalt has much to offer, and not just to fans of the Sky Disc. The Nebra Ark is located at the heart of the Saale-Unstrut Region, which is probably best known outside the region for its Saale-Unstrut wine. Numerous castles, manor houses and churches are linked by the Romanesque Tourist Route (‘Straße der Romanik’) and welcome visitors warmly. The landscape stands out for its protected natural areas and can be visited very easily by bicycle. Towns like Naumburg, Freyburg, Eckartsberga, Bad Bibra, Zeitz and Weißenfels await you, many with lovingly restored old town centres. With its thousand-year-old tradition of viticulture, the region will also tempt you with delicious wine tastings.
